Pastor Jim Grunow
As Pastor at Shepherd of the Valley, I believe I am called to lead God's people in "gathering, empowering and sending persons into an ever-changing world as disciples of the living Christ."
I grew up in Monroe, Michigan in the Lutheran part of the Body of Christ. I graduated from Wittenberg University in 1968 with a B.S. in Business Administration and from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis with a Master of Divinity in 1973 and have served at SOV for over eight years. I have been married to Vicki for eleven years. Between us we have five children. I enjoy spending my free time walking, hiking, playing golf, watching movies and plays, reading and eating delicious meals at local restaurants. It will come as no surprise to many of you that I am not mechanical, have no "handy-man" skills, computers mostly confuse me, and am a continuing "work in progress."

Ryan Batcheller,
Music Coordinator
I am honored and blessed to have served Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church since March of 2008. As Music Coordinator, I direct the choir, praise band, and facilitate special music at S.O.V. I completed a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Central Washington University, a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Michigan State University and I am a Doctor of Music Arts candidate at Michigan State University. In addition to my
responsibilities at S.O.V., I am also the Director of Choral Activities & Guitar Studies at Centennial High School in the Meridian School
District. I have been a member of Male Ensemble Northwest (www.maleenemblenorthwest.com), a professional vocal ensemble, since 2004
where I perform and participate in choral workshops around the Pacific
Northwest. The educational mission of M.E.N. has always been to
inspire, motivate and instill a love for choral music arts.
My wife, Laura, and my two children,
Charlie and Aiden, are a constant blessing and source of inspiration.
God has truly touched our lives through the support system of love and
dedication in our family. Through the abundant gifts that God
has afforded me, I look for the opportunities to share them with others.

My husband, Karl, and I moved to Boise in 1994 to raise our family. We have four daughters, Alexandra (18), Emily (16), Danielle (13), and Nickole (11). I have enjoyed teaching children of all ages, but my focus right now is on working with preschool-aged children at Shepherd of the Valley Preschool.

Jackie McMurran,
Parish Administrator/Bookkeeper
My name is Jackie McMurran. I started my journey at Shepherd of the
Valley in 2000. The primary purpose in my
blended position as Parish Administrator and Bookkeeper is to manage key
administrative activities pertaining to this congregation’s organizational
life.
After living some years in North Dakota, my family re-located
to S.W. Colorado where my father served as Pastor of a Lutheran Church
(L.C.M.S.). I attended Fort Lewis College in Durango Colorado where I met my husband
Jeff. We were short-term residents in Arizona while my husband
pursued his Ph.d. Post-graduation employment
opportunities brought us to Boise in 1999. We have been blessed with the
gift of two wonderful children, Olivia (12) and Josh (10). Along with enjoying most outdoor activities we
travel as often as possible to see extended family.
